Looking up...

Career is officially started
Sent Momma birthday wishes from the happiest place on earth
And got a boyfriend, who may or may not be this duck
While the sister took some road trips
 Saw pretty views in Colorado
and has been spending time with friends

How lucky we are to have such beautiful lives...

D-I-Y

We started with this:
Then I used this... because Martha Stewart is my home girl:
I painted right over the glass with the chalk paint for one frame, 3 coats later and it was beautiful.  Then I broke the glass out of the other shadow box and hot glued some corks in:
Then Kay got a wood burning pen and started a new hobby:
 Which turned into this:

For the love of lasagna

I love lasagna.  I really wanted to make it, but making a huge lasagna for one is not ideal, it's also a little intimidating, so I decided I wanted lasagna - in a ramekin.  Small sized portions, cooks quickly, and delicious.  I found the original recipe HERE.  I did make an adjustment however.  I used hot Italian sausage instead of ground beef to add flavor.

I also made the smartest decision I think I've ever made when it comes to lunch ideas.

I baked my individual lasagna in a mason jar.

Smart right?  I am not sure why I didn't think of it before.  I am sure someone else has done it, but I did not dare google it, I wanted to think I was some sort of lasagna super hero.

Anyway, now I can officially throw a lid on my cooked lasagna and tote it to work super easy.

I also made brownies, that almost turned out disastrous.  I threw the little buggers in the oven, and less than 30 seconds later ripped them out of the oven, realizing I forgot an ingredient.  How that happens when you're making box brownies, I do not know, but we have survived.  I had to top them off with chocolate, because I am just having one of those days.

Happy baking!

Support

My new job is... intense.  It's like college, but the girls in my class have all agreed that it's a bazillion times harder.  All I can say is I will be overjoyed and probably dancing around my entire house for a week once these 12 weeks are over. (Currently starting week 4 on Monday)

I have been stressed, striving for perfection, and studying my brains out.  Friday, I almost lost it.

Saturday I woke up feeling like my world was over.  Then, my family invited me to lunch, and all was right in the world.  Then, today I got a few sweet messages from family members, reminding me to keep my head up, and telling me that they were proud of me.

Today's lesson, sweet words can change a person's whole attitude.

I can't thank everyone enough who has been supporting me through this journey.  I couldn't do it without such an amazing support system.

Wishing you a fabulous, stress free, positive filled work week.

Books & Brains

Studying has taken complete control of my life, and for the next few months, it's all I have time for.  I have to say, keeping my head in books in between the studying has kept me sane.

Hoping you all find a little love in a book of your own...

The Pantry Diaries

Ladies and gents, it's our first entry in our Pantry Diary.

You know that moment when you're really hungry but you don't want to shop?  That happened to me today, so I had to make whatever was in the house.  I ended up with this:

A glass of wine, a cupcake, noodles with parsley a little garlic powder and butter, and the best part...

Drumroll please:
Apple Mango Salad

It was super easy, cut some mango, some apples, and some lettuce, toss it with balsamic vinegar and a little ranch dressing and you've got a super delicious salad.

I'm pretty proud of my thrown together dinner for one.

Now that we have dinner out of the way, here are some super adorable things to make your heart warm and fuzzy:

Hoping you are feeling inspired as you head in to your Monday!

Audrey & Prom

This weekend we photographed prom & a mother daughter shoot.

We also had a little Audrey Hepburn inspiration at each shoot, since today would have been her 84th birthday.

It was a beautiful day.

Cars

This weekend I had the opportunity to take pictures of some pretty amazing cars.  We volunteered little sister Shayla to model with the cars for a fun Sunday adventure.  It was a beautiful sunny day full of giggles, oh my gosh's, and plenty of family time.  Here are my fav. photos of the day:

Adorable, young love.

I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Weekend Adventures

This weekend we were on our own adventures.

One of us was participating in the Bubble Run, a charity run 5K for Sign Design, a local sign language community club.

Visiting with the family goats, there were three new arrivals Friday night, one has been marked with love:

While the other one of us was visiting the flower fields in Carlsbad, CA

And spending some quality time with our grandparents

We are pretty lucky to have such beautiful lives.
